Tuesday 9 February 2010 - Royal Wood (£6) (reserve tickets)
We are delighted to welcome to LFC another in the long line of superb artists from our friends at Six Shooter records in Toronto. Royal Wood is fast becoming an influencial musician on the Canadian music scene whose finely crafted playing and velvety vocals have featured on several US and Canadian TV series and film soundtracks.
Tuesday 16 February 2010 - Eilidh Steel and Mark Neal (£6) (reserve tickets)
Eilidh Steel and Mark Neal are a Scottish music duo playing traditional and contemporary tunes and songs with many of their own compositions on fiddle, guitar and vocals. Continuing in the traditions of Scottish music with many influences from Argyll and the West Coast of Scotland, they blend the historical and modern perspective using older and newer compositions. Both Eilidh and Mark are prolific composers writing tunes and songs, taking influences from a wide range of music from piping and fiddling to indie/funk/jazz and everything else around.
Tuesday 23 February 2010 - Sophie Lavoie and Fiachra O’Regan
(£6) (reserve tickets)
Sophie & Fiachra’s Music explodes onto the stage in a whirlwind of energy. Sophie Lavoie, from Lac-St-Jean in Québec, started to learn the fiddle by listening to Québec fiddlers such as Louis Pitou Boudreault and for several years toured across Europe and America as a member of L’Attisée. Fiachra O‘Regan, from Connemara, is All Ireland Champion on the Uilleann Pipes and the whistle and has played on stage along with artists such as The Chieftains and Paddy Keenan. The styles of these two musicians blends naturally and the links between the Irish and Québécois traditions provide fertile ground for collaboration and exploration.
